Whitaker Studio

Just discovered this photo from behind the scenes at the Snapshot shoot…

As you can see, it was a fairly inclusive affair with the actors taking it in turns to hold the mic for us.   I will write a little technical post sometime soon for anyone interested in what was involved.

And thank you to everyone involved, it couldn’t have ever happened without all your help!   See you all at the screening.

Last weekend I shot my first film with my brother Thom and a few friends for the Virgin Media Shorts competition.   It’s all coming along well now and will hopefully be ready for internet distribution in two weeks time…

In lieu of payment I offered the actors head shots and on Friday Chris came round to take me up on the offer.

Just discovered that I’ve won use of a 22m tall cherry picker for a week!

Facelift are going to furnish me with a terrific tool for getting some truly unique shots. There’s a bit of organising to be done before I hit the road with the truck but as soon as I do I’ll post the results here….

Sitooterie II

I’ve just finished a big spring clean of my website and infused it with lots of new images.

The last one to be taken was the photograph above which I took last night, along with the 3 below, at Barnard Farm - the owners were incredibly nice :-)   The little retreat or folly is another creation of my old workplace Heatherwick Studio, and a forerunner to the British Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo which opens next week.

I’ve been giving my portfolio a bit of a spring clean over the last couple of weeks.   I’m not finished yet but it’s been a nice excuse to get some nice images.
This photograph is of the vents in Paternoster Square, London, designed by my old boss Thomas Heatherwick.   I photographed them a couple of years ago but called back past this morning to have a second look.   I still love their simplicity, based on a very simple bit of paper folding.
